What We Do
The OSA is a vibrant place from which to enjoy a segment of your life. A place to experience a natural and balanced lifestyle. The OSA is all about nature. How well anyone adapts will depend on their ability to understand the environment. TicoTown can help you understand life in the tropics through a network of skilled professionals who live and work on the OSA. In other words TicoTown can help facilitate a much smoother entry into life on the OSA.
TicoTown has what you're looking for, namely beautiful properties for "discriminating buyers". Most have been managed by North Americans for over 20 years and it shows, not only in the administrative side of things but also on site. TicoTown has ideal properties for fishing camps, private ocean retreats, rural retreats, sailing camps, jungle and mountain reserves, hotels and/or condo projects, island, coastal and mainland projects, country and beach homes. Commercial, residential, rural, tourist, beach and island properties are all contained within TicoTown's portfolio of outstanding and eclectic properties put together over a 20 year period.
TicoTown is able to understand where you are coming from because we are owned, managed and staffed by Canadian, American, British, Costa Rican and Panamanian citizens. A few of us decided to live in the tropics a couple of decades ago. We may not yet have mastered life in the tropics, but at the very least we have learned to survive, prosper, enjoy and appreciate life’s miracles here on the OSA.
Ticotown offers local expertise. We apply that expertise to helping you achieve your goals and objectives, not ours. We help you bring it all together. Why you may ask would we do such a thing. Well, primarily because we understand the concept of customer service and YOU are the customer. Secondly, because we are capable of working with you instead of for you. We can become your dedicated, educated and local partner. And that my dear reader is an extremely rare find in this part of the world. Pura Vida!!!
Life on the OSA
The "Peninsula de OSA" is located in the extreme south western corner of the country, directly west of "Golfito" and just a little east of Panama.
It's home to the world renowned "Corcovado National Park" which contains approximately 3/5's of the peninsula's land mass. This is the largest remaining protected tract of "Pacific Coast Rainforest" left in the western hemisphere. The wildlife here is absolutely extraordinary, the plant life more diverse than you will find anywhere in the world, and the butterflies and birds are magnificent.
There is a ridge of large hills or small mountains that runs down the center of the peninsula offering spectacular views not only of the wide open "Pacific Ocean" but also of the calmer "Golfo Dulce". These hills are the sources of the many pristine rivers that flow to the "Pacific" or "Golfo Dulce". They are inhabited by plentiful river shrimp. Some of the best marlin, sailfish and tuna are caught within 15 miles of our shores. There are a number of good and consistent surf breaks, some would even say great. The beaches are fantastic with hardly ever anybody on them offering exquisite privacy most of the time.
The main town of the OSA, "Puerto Jimenez", offers the infrastructure (bank, post office, telecommunications, airport, port and bus depot) necessary to service tourists and locals alike. There are a variety of boutiques, bars and restaurants which offer good value for the money. The nocturnal life is fascinating.
The OSA peninsula has maintained it's cultural integrity and individuality as it has grown over the last 30 years and at the same managed to welcome visitors graciously. As everybody says here on the OSA, Pura Vida!
Testimonial
" Ticotown located the property I was searching for. I've been pleased with it ever since and have shared memorable times there with friends and family. Ticotown was able to answer my questions about financing and facilitated the process of acquiring my dream property in paradise. "

Many years ago I visited Costa Rica as a tourist and visited a friend in the central valley of that country. At that time I began my dream of integrating that country into my life. With the aid of TicoTown I was able to locate a house and property in a small community on the outskirts of Atenas, an area that has arguably some of the best weather in the world. Locals are very friendly and family oriented and very receptive to non-Ticos. In my experience there over the last 8 years it is a wonderful place to live. Thank you TicoTown!!!
